Graduate Spotlight
Ken Druck
Process graduate and Advisory Council member Ken Druck, a noted
organizational consultant and author, lost his beautiful and talented
daughter Jenna at the age of 21 in a tragic accident while she was
studying abroad in 1996.
Ken found that support for bereaved parents and families is often
elusive during their darkest, most difficult hour.
Less than a year after Jenna’s death, Ken was told about
the Process by a dear friend, Dr. Harold Bloomfield. “I am
grateful I found a safe place to go into the depth of my heartache
and anger with God -- and begin to transform my pain into an expression
of love that would honor my daughter, my family, my own life and
even the world,” he said.
During the Process, Ken had a profound and comforting vision in
which he was met by Jenna’s outstretched hand at the end of
his River of Life. “Jenna would expect nothing less of me
than to use what I was learning at the bottom of pain to help other
families who suffer.” Ever since, he’s been doing exactly
that.
In 1996 Ken founded the Jenna Druck Foundation (JDF), a non-profit
organization offering free support servicesto grief-stricken families.
The JDF’s award-winning ‘Families Helping Families’
program assists thousands of people in their journey through grief
every year via support groups, grief education, workshops, community
outreach to schools and the workplace, original publications and
grief literacy advocacy. Ken’s spoken word CD, “Healing
Your Life After the Loss of a Loved One” has been distributed
worldwide to grieving families.
JDF’s other program, “Young Women’s Leadership,”
established to honor Jenna’s accomplishments as a leader,
provide leadership development andtraining to young women through
an Annual Conference, quarterly Forums, a magazine and community
education.
Ken is considered an international expert on turning life’s
tragedies into opportunities and has appeared multiple times on
Larry King Live and Oprah. He has delivered inspirational keynote
speeches at Harvard School of Public Health, YPO and for hundreds
of conferences.
Ken is often called upon in complex, critical incident situations
such as in New York after 9/11, following the Columbine and Santana
school shootings and in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Ken
will share his wisdom, compassion and insight with Process graduates
when he leads a Teleclass titled “Healing The Grieving Heart.”
During the call Ken will guide us on acknowledging loss and transforming
grief into profound spiritual deepening, compassion, and hope for
the future. Ken’s Teleclass is Wednesday May 21st at 5:00
