Nestled in the hills of San Rafael, California, the historic Santa Sabina Retreat Center is a sanctuary for reflection and renewal, with roots dating back to 1939. Long cared for by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, its grounds carry a legacy of peace, beauty, and spiritual depth.
Now entering a new chapter, Santa Sabina has been renovated to serve as the dedicated campus of the Hoffman Process. Thoughtfully redesigned for the next generation of seekers, the retreat features a light-filled classroom, a welcoming dining hall and kitchen, and 47 private bedrooms designed for rest and renewal.
The former chapel, now de-sanctified and free of religious iconography, has been transformed into The Sanctuary. Reimagined as a space for Hoffman’s non-religious spiritual work, The Sanctuary is a place where participants gather for reflection, transformation, and connection — a space that embodies the essence of Hoffman’s mission to nurture healing and awakening.
Set on two secluded acres of landscaped grounds, Santa Sabina is now a home where the Hoffman Process continues its work of creating environments for growth, discovery, and profound personal change.
