Practicing Compassion for Self & Others
So often in life, when we are in pain or upset, rather than moving toward ourselves with compassion and presence, we move away from ourselves. We may distract, ignore, shut down, numb with our addiction of choice, or even scold ourselves. We are deeply conditioned to patterns of self-abandonment, of withholding love and care from ourselves in the way it was lacking for us as children. Self-compassion and self-love, recognizing our own worthiness, is powerfully healing. In this webclass, we will explore practicing self-compassion. What is it? What is it not? What gets in the way? And how do we cultivate more of it?
