Maybe there’s a person who’s written a book, or a professor who’s done some kind of research, and then they build a curriculum based on that perfectly wonderful approach to things. But that is not the Hoffman Process, right? Because, really, Bob Hoffman understood things more intuitively. …This is a wisdom tradition program. – Jo Mattoon

Self-Compassion & Kristin Neff
Listen to Kristin Neff on The Hoffman Podcast
Kristin says that compassion has three components: kindness, mindfulness, and humanity. “Compassion is grounded in a sense of shared humanity.” At its core, compassion is the understanding that we are doing the best we can, moment to moment. That we are human beings. We are part of a much larger whole. Moment by moment, we are doing the best we can, learning and trying with care and love. If we learn this, things become much easier to deal with.

Kristin also writes about Fierce Self-Compassion, as diagrammed below.
